CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

The goal of our Group Exercise Program is to provide you with professional instruction and a safe, effective, well-balanced and fun workout. We offer a variety of classes that focus on cardiovascular conditioning, strength and conditioning and mind-body awareness. Many of our classes are geared for all levels of fitness and some are more appropriate for beginner, intermediate or the advanced exerciser. The schedule is issued monthly so you may not find all the classes described below on the current schedule. We ask that you take a moment to read the following class descriptions so that you can get the most out of your workout and remain injury free. Remember, when participating in any exercise program always go at your own pace. If you have any questions or need assistance with any exercise, our certified instructors are here to help you.

BODY SCULPTING/SCULPT: A total body conditioning class designed to target individual muscle groups. Weights and/or Dyna-Bands are used to increase the effectiveness and intensity of the workout. This class improves muscular strength and creates muscle definition.

CARDIO SCULPT: An aerobic paced sculpting class utilizing free weights, bands, body bars and dynamic body movements. Step aerobics and/or kick boxing techniques will be used for cardiovascular conditioning in this high energy sculpting class.

CARDIO STRETCH AND TONE: This class is a great workout for any fitness level. A warm up and 20 minutes of step aerobics are followed by toning exercises for the upper and lower body. Abdominal exercises and, of course, plenty of stretching are included in this 65 minutes workout.

HI/LO/KICK COMBO: This class combines high intensity, low impact aerobics with kick boxing. Free weight intervals are included to make this a total workout. Cardio and strength training intervals may be modified or maximized to meet your fitness level. Abdominal and leg exercises are incorporated into this 60-minute class.

HI/LO CONDITIONING: This is a traditional high intensity, low impact aerobics class that includes lower body conditioning exercises and resistance training exercises for the upper body. Abdominal work and stretching are also included to complete this 65 minute workout.

INTERVAL STEP: This 60-minute class will have you exercising through both aerobic and anaerobic training phases. Step choreography with segments of weight training will allow you to build cardiovascular strength and endurance. This class also includes abdominal exercises and is great for any fitness level.

INTRO SPIN®: This 60-minute class is highly recommended for anyone interested in participating in the SPINNING® Program. You will learn bike safety and set up and be given the fundamental techniques to ensure a safe, fun and effective workout. Your instructor will take you on a 30-minute journey to explore the physical movement and experience a body/mind connection. After this class you will feel confident, physically ready and proficient in the bike movements and safety procedures to take on a 40-minute SPINNING® Class without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.

KICK BOX COMBO: This high energy class combines a multiple series of punches and kicks with cardio intervals. A great full body workout with free weights for toning and abdominal exercises are included.

KICK BOX CONDITIONING: This high energy class provides a total body workout. This class is designed for all levels, working on cardio endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, speed, power and coordination. Segments of leg and abdominal exercises are included.

KICK STEP: This energetic class combines the best of kick boxing and step aerobics into one great 60-minute cardiovascular conditioning class. Abdominal work and stretch is included to complete your workout. Class limited to 10 participants.

LOW IMPACT: A cardiovascular workout. Low impact choreography emphasizes a less stressful style of movement characterized by participants keeping one foot on close contact with the floor at all times; less stress on the musculoskeletal systems with excellent cardiovascular benefits.

MAT WORK: This class is a must for all fitness levels. Exercises focus on joint stabilization, core strengthening and stabilization and posture muscle strengthening. Stretching is incorporated to help increase flexibility, improve circulation, reduce stress and help aid in injury prevention.

POWER STEP: This high intensity step class take the fundamentals of plyometrics training and incorporates them into a workout that is designed to increase power, strength and stamina.

SIMPLY STRETCH: A static stretch class which helps increase flexibility, improve circulation, reduce stress and is an important factor in injury prevention.

SPINNING®: An exercise class on stationary bikes. This is a non-competitive group exercise class perfect for any fitness level. Let your instructor take you on a 40-minute journey over different terrain in search of the ultimate mind/body connection that is the core of obtaining complete health and fitness.

STEP: A cardio class utilizing The Step. A warm-up, 30-40 minutes of step choreography and cool down makes up this incredible cardiovascular workout. Abdominal work and stretching are included to make this class a complete workout.

STEP AND SCULPT: This class combines a step workout to improve cardiovascular conditioning and a body sculpting workout utilizing weights and Dyna-Bands to improve muscular tone and definition.

TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING: This 75-minute class had it all. Step aerobics for cardiovascular conditioning, lower and upper body sculpting workout utilizing weights and Dyna-Bands. This class also includes floor work for those hard to tone areas and abdominal exercises will help develop firm abs.

YOGA: A class based on an ancient form of movement that promotes balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation through various positions and breathing techniques. This class improves your overall sense of well-being.

VIGOROUS YOGA: This class uses yoga postures in vinyasa, or "flow" form, to create a more fluid and physically challenging practice.
